When my running team ended our 198 mile relay race in Key West we were hungry. We were tired. We needed beer and we definitely needed a shower. Shanna Key popped up as nearby open grill and bar so we figured we would drop in with 13 and see what they could do. There wasn't a crowd at all on a Saturday night so we were skeptical of our choice. They sat us at a large table toward the back and we had a server promptly. She didn't seem overly enthused to deal with us but she was patient. The food is Irish based but with typical pub fare thrown in. Shepherds pie next to hot wings next to a full Irish breakfast. I ordered hot wings to start and they were hot as promised. The order was 10 bucks but it was a pretty decent basket of wings. Our table mostly stuck with burgers which everyone agreed were good but we did have an Irish breakfast ordered and I went with a classic Reuben. The Irish breakfast was reported to be good. I tried the black and white pudding but I don't think it's for me. My Reuben's corned beef was GOOD. Fork tender and falling apart. Tart sauerkraut and toasted rye bread with so much cheese! This sandwich was served open faced and I used a fork because it seemed appropriate. (I was hungry enough to face first it) It came with standard fries. They may have been fresh cut but I don't know. I was too busy snarfing wings and a sammich. I had a beer and my total came to I think 25 bucks or so. I'd go back if only to hear the man on the harmonica tearing it up during karaoke. He was legit.

Stopped in here to watch World Cup. A/C just ok. Big screen and sound great. Had a few beers- it was nice that they let us hang around for the whole game even though we didn't order food. The really unfortunate thing that happened was getting chewed out by a waitress for not sitting in her section. She offered to seat us but we told her we just wanted to grab a spot in the bar. Once we did we were served by someone else and settled in to watch the game she approached our table and created a scene. We apologized so she would go away... This is the closest place to where we always stay in Key West. We hadn't wandered in before because we like the bars downtown or on the water. I was excited to try something new that us walking distance- it is safe to say we won't be back.

After driving back Jack Flats on Duval street tonight (Notre Dame vs Michigan) and seeing that I wouldn't get a seat, I checked out yelp and decided to get out of downtown and head to a less populated place. Shanna Key Irish Pub and Grill was perfect. A good number of TV's showing the game, a good beer selection, and wonderful Irish food (the Shepard's pie was out of this world). Oh, and wifi to boot. I had problems connecting to the wifi network, and the owner very graciously went up to his office to reset the router (the problem was with my computer all along). the service was good, the owner is really from Ireland, I was digging this place. The only knock, is that in the 3rd quarter of the football game (Friday night) they shut down the main TV and switched to Karaoke. I am pretty sure there were only two patrons in the bar that gave two hoots about karaoke, and everyone else was there for the game. Regardless, there were enough TV's to make up for the bad vocals in the background...

I had dinner there last night.....for the last time. The food was very good, as usual. No problem there. However, the waitress who was working the floor was obviously having a bad day, and was taking it out on all of her guests. To my table, she was curt and inattentive. However, she was downright hateful to the table across from us. They had a well behaved three year old in their party, and the vile curse she muttered just loud enough for us to hear regarding the child is unrepeatable in polite company. As a parent of now grown children, this kind of behavior is ugly and unprofessional. I will not be eating here again!

I had the blackened Japanese catfish sandwich and it was delicious! I highly recommend it. Being in the key west, and having lots of different kinds of fish, this one was by far seasoned/tasted the best. I would definitely come back if I could!

Shanna Key is a great Irish Pub! As authentic as it gets, this place prides itself on being a bar that serves food, so the attention is more focused on that. Surprisingly, the food is VERY tasty. A little salty, but back to the, "bar" mentality, that is understandable. The dining room is HUGE, and the bar is well stocked. I had the meatloaf, very tasty, and the wife had Irish nachos which is really just chili cheese fries, so be warned! Staff is laid back, we were the only one's eating, so it is hard to assess them fully. Our waitress was very attentive, filling our glasses, and getting our food in a timely manner. Recommended.

Came in here late night on a Monday to finish up an awesome week in Key West. I could tell it was a rowdy place but yeah its a bar no problem. Because I had my family with me, I asked the bartender if we could sit in the dining room and she gave me a nasty look and said "No you can sit in the bar" The waitress however was real friendly and although the food took awhile, it was good. Also they are a steelers bar so I guess go there if you like the Steelers. Bottom line is the service left a bit to be desired but the food was good and if you like hearing dudes drop 5 F bombs per minute on a Monday night this is the place for you. Normally this would be a 3 star review but the bartender needs to relax and be a bit more helpful next time.

Fun, fun, fun! Found this place quite by accident while riding scooters around Key West. The place is true Irish pub and I should know since I've lived in Boston for 19 years. The food is authentic and the service is friendly. The bartender completely took care of us, making sure we never had to wait for any service. The waitress, Kathryn, was fun and friendly and made us laugh. It was a great evening with friends and good food. The potato chowder was to die for and the chicken wings wer delicious. Will make this a regular spot every time I'm in Key West.

Who knew that I would have such a love for Irish breakfast? It consists of different types of sausage, Irish bacon, potatoes, eggs and a grilled tomato. Simply put - its delicious! And you know the Irish... its completely acceptable to drink beer at breakfast. Woohooo!

I would give this place a 4 1/2, its as authentic as it gets folks. All these bad reviews are from people that are use to commercial establishments. Shanna Key won my heart with their Irish Breakfast. It is 100% authentic, they get their meats flown in every Wednesday. If you have ever been to Ireland you will know right away that this is the real deal. Total pub feel, nice bar, nice selection of beers on draft, i couldnt ask for more.

One of the worst restaurants in Key West. It's a decent enough bar,but I've tried to enjoy eating at Shanna at least 4 times and the food is pretty awful. Irish pubs in Dublin or KW are never really known for their food, but this place is at the bottom of the list. The Shepherd's Pie is an embarrassment.Even the fries were awful.Chicken Wings were greasy, real greasy, but decent enough to eat. Beer selection is OK for Key West, which is mostly a Bud town. Good pub vibe, but poor food.Finnigan's Wake food is twice as good as Shanna's(Finnigan's is no food emporium).Finnigan's beer selection is much better also.No connection to either place.I'm a long time snow bird. Why do I keep going back? 1.I always hope it will get better. How difficult is it to hire a decent chef and turn them loose to improve the kitchen? 2.I'm a Steeler fan. We'll put up with lots of thing to watch the Steelers

The good- food is relatively inexpensive. Locals go here. Off the Duval Street tourist disaster area. The bad- service is indifferent. Food is okay- but not great. Just ate here. Ordered the curry (pretty good) and the sausages (not bad with the brown -hp- sauce). It's an Irish-style pub. Lots of space to eat. Good selection of American (wings, burgers) and Irish-style (curry, Irish breakfast, little sausages) food. A fair number of televisions (showing futbol when I was there) and what looked to be a cast of hard drinking regulars at the bar. I'd give it 3 1/2 stars, but I'm rounding up because the curry was a good pub curry, and they have great prices for Key West.

Awesome food! I had the fish and chips and it was yummy! My husband had the Reuben and it was delicious! A must visit away from Duval Street! The service was fast and friendly!

Rachel is awesome! Delicious food. Fabulous drinks! A great place to start before you head to Duval street for three late night life! I love the local feel. A definite locals bar without the touristy feel! Will definitely be back again!

Great Irish pub food, out of the tourist mainstream, and fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity on Thursday racing hermit crabs. Cool place, great people.

A fun Irish Pub. This one is off the beaten tourist path, so it is more laid back and frequented by more locals. Worth the trip for the pleasant atmosphere.

Fantastic pub. It was so nice to get off Duvall street, watch a match and feel like I was in my local pub at home. Best Reuben sandwich I've ever had. The corned beef was thin and nearly melted in your mouth. The pricing was very reasonable and the home town feel was relaxing. If you want to know where the locals go after running tourists out on fishing charters, this is the place.

The burgers were good but the chicken wings were the best. The wait staff was very friendly and courteous.

We had the best pierogi's we've ever had: served by a Czech waitress in this Irish Pub. That's Key West for you! The fish and chips were also delish. It's a locals bar and a good option for food in the area. (Or try The Bier Boutique a stone's through away.)
